Got my wife nagging me to sort of house gable ends, one of which is tyrolean, the other plain rendered. The tyroleaned end is good, except where we've recently filled in a doorway so needs patching. The rendering at the other end is sound but a bit patchy after building works over the years so I'm thinking of just tyroleaning the whole gable so both gables match.
How easy is it to do DIY tyrolean? Looks like it should be simple enough but appearances can sometimes be deceptive and in the distant past we had problems with badly applied render so I know exterior finishing needs knowledge, experience and care. Also I'm not sure how easy it is to match existing finish.
Am I best to entrust to an experienced tradesman? Volunteers in Huddersfield area?
