Today i decided to photo all my skimming in a kitchen using unifinish over artex and tile adhesive and brick and bonding ...so that i can post tonight for anybodies comments good or bad (which probably will be more bad than good).Every time somebody talks unifinish we have a 50/50 split on who thinks its ok or crap.Alot don't want to post work pictures cuz people just slate the work. For me price is the reason a lot will not try it and i agree at £11 ish its to much..when unifinish 1 was £7.50.i personally think merchants go in at £11 ish cuz they will loose profit of pva u would buy if everyone still used multi.Any way pictures below i did pva under window cill and on cill cuz it was to dry all the painted artex didn't(artex is for me when unifinish comes into its own). Two mixes...first was ceiling with end wall and reveals...2rd mix radiator wall and window wall.I picked this room to show cuz it has all the crap you don't want when skimming i.e rad still on boiler in way fridge still in room and washer and really under the window cill should of had a bonding coat first.I got the bags at £7.80 from sig.used marshalltown, speed skim to flatten and nela super flex on final trowel off.

Some more finished pics would be helpful but i aint going to slag your work it takes some balls to post work pics on here if you ask me as nearly 30,000 members to pull it to bits which is the easiest job in the world. Fair play to you mate

Are u joking about more pictures it took me ages to work out how to upload these but I will if u want..the unifinish video I did for gypsum people have said was set up but it was as real a job as u can get.if plasterers can skim they can use unifinish.I hoping this thread encourages the ones that want to try it just do it.when u r on top of the mix the gear is great to use.

Fair play plasterman. I've not used it. I really like the idea of it esp for artex or silk painted walls so next job i price over artex i'll give it a shot also. Just not sure i trust it. I thought it was white for some reason though

I'd try it Friday on some silk painted artex, if I knew where to get it local. Do you think a 25m2 ceiling is a good place to start with it @plasterman
Yes if u can do with multi u be ok with unifinish as soon as you got first coat on if u got Speedskim flatten straight away as u would with multi and Speedskim.what area/merchants r near u

Gonnae pick faults in your job noo.....

No the best to try it on is around 10-16m wall or ceiling flat painted medium to low auction with no beads.
I haven't use it since October but used 28 bags over various walls and ceilings
With no come backs yet. My plan was to leAve it for 6-12 months then see what BG we're doing with promotion etc and any call backs on my jobs before further purchases.

I recognise you from the video now. Are you happy to reccomend it after months of use on various jobs of yours with no call backs?

Trialed it for months before the video on all different surfaces that's why i agreed to do the video cuz i think it's the best product to plaster world since multi came out.the cautions on the bags r there for good reason some surfaces u do have to think to yourself it's to dry but painted artex is fine.the more u use it the more u become aware of what its or your limits are,as with pva and multi skimming.the video had a few different surfaces which is why it was choice to show people they can trust the product

The worries are the unknowns, some surfaces only give up once wet or extra weight goes on them, that's why pva users can see what the suction will be,will see where grease has been, heavy smokers has been, will also see if it's going to peel. Artex is often over distemper in older properties or lining paper in some new ones,,caveats caveats,

fair play for sharing photos :-) More people should do it on here to be honest as its a good way to see what everybody is doing :-)
