Just needed some advice as hearing conflicting answers. I've had a property rendered with sand, white cement and lime. There is a variation on colour in certain areas. The plasterer is saying it was because of rain but I'm not convinced. Spoken to Lafarge and they've said its to do with the sand...can someone please help?? I have attached a photo

This type of coloured render is never going to look great compared to a bagged through colour.it would have to be gauged perfectly for the colour to be 100%.
It being a different colour under the window would suggest it is weather related as this area rarely gets the rain.
Using a float to finish the wall would also cause colour variations which you don't get from a through colour

Looks like water has ran down it and bleached it. Nothing to do with the sand as the sill is a giveaway.

Maybe a different supply of sand,or not bucket gauged. Out if interest what's lafarge got to do with it mate ?
Oh it was the make of white cement so thought I would call them. They said different sand or if sand was wet/dry there is a variation in the weight so mix would have to be adjusted??

Why would you not believe what your plaster has said ?
like above reply with cill .
Easiest job in world to pull someone's work
He said she said ,will just create a witch hunt for plaster.. talk to your contractor

It washes the cement out of the surface. Under the sill is richer in cement than to the right of it. The water can also cause lime bloom.
