Various Coving Advice Needed

Hi,
I'd bought all the gear in for doing the hall stairs and landing at our 2 bed, old terrace before the virus so I've been kept busy, I'm not a tradesman but always been very good with my hands and would rank myself as a keen and skilled DIY'er that can do stuff better than a fair few pros, not blowing my own trumpet, just slow but methodical and patient.

This was a pretty big job and involved some ballache jobs like making a levelling sled for my router to level a previously roughly sawn off newel post (dont ask, I have no idea lol), stripping spindles to wood, zin bin priming it, proper anal job as I've currently all the time in the world.

Anyway, I've never put cove up before, I used Knauf plaster cove from Wickes with the little blue plastic template for the mitres, the corners of the area were a mile out, walls and ceiling like a dogs back leg, so a bit of filling needed, I'm after a bit of reassurance that it looks right but also a really stupid question. On the bottom edge of cove, ie the little quarter inch part that comes out from the wall, is it actually meant to be painted the wall colour or the colour the rest of the cove is?

Here's a couple of my pics of the whole job along with the coving pics.

Looks great mate, it's your house paint coving however you wish, I would have shifted that loft hatch a couple of feet to be honest then coved rest of wall.
