Any of you guys spezialize in venetian/faux/polished plastering?
If so, how do you find the going? Fancy a go at my bathroom, but don't want to pay loads of money for materials if theres more than meets the eye. Looks a peice of cake on youtube (PLEASE DONT SLATE ME FOR THIS COMMENT) as I am more than comfortable with a trowel in my hand.
Any advice would be an advantage.
Cheers

getting the right material is everything.i got introduced about 15 years ago and have tried many products and for me there is only one to use spattula sthuui its expensive but its the dogs

spattulas sthuui, typed it in google and came up with all italian websites (suppose it figures as it is italian lol) where can I get this from Rock?

I have been venetian plastering 10 or so years. I used to use the above but I realised they are too expensive and I have over recent years experienced mismatch on there pre-mix. When your on big jobs it is a pain to have these problems. Money etc...

I opted not for Spatula sthuui as you get the tears if you don't know what you're doing. Try using Carrara base coat for impact strength and 2 coat classic with colour in. I buy all mine from www.venetian-plastering.com/products.htm

Hi Garrett,

You will earn more money pe metre, once toy realise there's more to float and Set. Rendering the lot. I have aimed this for many years at interior designs done firends and family and gone from there. Classic is fine finish and Carrara is course. You put the carrarra on first for strength and durability. Classic are the colour coats, over 100 colours and 3 tp 5 shades of each colour. In London at Mo on a russians house.

Be handy to have the skill. say u run outa multi on the job could just give a nice fine finish in pink over the socket chases.
