What length of time do you tell people to leave the skim to dry before papering? I advise on 5 to 30 days before painting dependant on job.

5 to 30 days!??? Thats a timescale sire?if its just a reskim...a week.
as long as the decorator preps properly...:RpS_wink:

Whoa... woodchip!? That's nearly as bad as putting artex over one of your ceilings. That'd proper get up my nose!

As for how long to leave it. Till it's dry (light pink) there's no reason not to. If it's dry it's dry. You gain nothing looking at a bare wall for another 25 days

The worse bit I hate is when you return to look at another project and they show you the room that you skimmed previously and the painting is rubbish.

Aye james , **** cutting in etc , it would annoy me if i was a painter we go on about people trying to plaster every f**k*r gives painting a go lol

7 to 10 days i advise even if it appears dry there could be residual moisture between old and new particulary if you have skimmed onto painted surface

And getting you back in beddy ? They must fell out the rough tree them selves :RpS_thumbsup: They might like the papered lines look ????

I kind of felt like that. I said you do know it doesnt have to be papered don't you.

He said oh, I wasnt sure and the Mrs said it needed to be papered so I just did it. Explained how to paint it next time and he was chuffed to bits as he funking hated papering
