hello people i am not a plasterer but have picked up a bit of plastering skills over the years and iam going to render my old garden walls there only 3 foot high with slabs on top so ive got no angale beads to put up, ive got plastering sand and cement and water proofer, my mix will be 4 buckets of sand to 1 buckect cement (think that is right)
but how do you know how much water proffer to add, on the label its says 1 part water proofer to 25 parts water??
i have not got a clue what that means
thankyou very much for your help

hmmm normally it tells you to add it in proportion to the amount of cement you're using

personally i'd do a stronger 3:1 mix for your scratch coat

oh ok i will use 3:1 mix then how much water proofer would you add to that then, thankyou for the quick reply

I wouldn't bother with the water proofer , it's not gonna be of any real use or benefit to ya , unless of course you have a dpc in your garden wall
