Cheaper version off thistle Bond it and imo just as good!

cheaper? i pay £37+vat for a 10 L tub of bond it

£55 in My travis Perkins! Where u get yours? .......To be honest it dosn't cost me nowt, book it out for a small job and take the rest home for my own jobs....Best thing about working for the council ( apart from the council house hunnies)!!! ;)

whatever.....................its good stuff mate use it on overskims, artex ceilings, painted areas etc ......just use it everywhere basically but you need to look out for glossy surfaces its best to leave it overnight or the plaster'll set before its bonded to the wall

steve you can go on it after 2 hrs mate with the wba obviously longer the better but on the tub the shortest time is 2 hrs but allways make sure its stirred well to get the polygrains flowing

when its dry steve ive hard trowled a wall and the lot came off in a perfect trowels width when i wentover gypbond to early
cant really go by time its more site conditions ???

so most of the time its a few hours. when ive used bond it, i couldnt skim it til the next day. waste of time if its a small job.

Same as you steve I've used Bond it in the past & wasn't keen seen as it's 24hrs waiting time :o
WBA 2 hrs. ;)
I've always used pva so just stuck to what I know.
But never thought I'd say it...... I'm converted to WBA now, well on some jobs anyway. ::)
I paid £13 & i got about 15m2 out of it over artex.
So if you say roughly £1 a m2 just price it into the job.
I tried to scrape a bit of the WBA off that was on silk artex the other week after 2 hrs & it was well stuck on & solid.
Obviously longer in winter etc.
Good stuff.

Did I mention it was good stuff ;D

Agree with misus. Only thing is it's a pain in the arse hanging around for 2 hours if you only have a ceiling to do. :-\

That's true but there's always the knicker draws to look through
& food in the cupboards to eat & beer in the fridge to drink. ;D

lol i do as well

Hello Mate
It is quality stuff but in my opinion it's just totally impractical, as said it's 2 hours min but ideally longer, who wants to hang around for that amount of time, I never use it now just a good quality PVA

Fair enough if you've only got a ceiling to do but if you've got a complete house or a few rooms there's no waiting around.
And once it's all rolled once it's done then its just skim, skim, skim ;)

Ha listen to me ::) i was the one defending pva on here last year :D

Oh really!! it's all just skim, skim, skim! You're not related to those Scottish queers...Colin & Justin? :-*

FBS & KK. Englands answer to Colin & Justin are coming to Scotland?? It's too good to be true :o

WBA is good stuff on artex ceilings it works wonders...

If I am re skimming artex I like to get in the afternoon before scrape back and glue with WBA then in teh morning its ready and you get an early day or your ready for teh next job.... failing that stick a muck monkey to do the scraping and glueing then go to the pub....

Danny

I've actually got a artex ceiling on tomorrow, 25m and its got the silk emulsion over it. I'm not looking forward to it as there's a wee extra bit at the bay window with a lintel separating it. So it's 2 beads as well! :'(

i also get my'n from Travis Perkings so av a word! i used it as an around sealer, i add water and PVA to it to thin it out, then one nice coat on any re skim will seal all walls for the next 3-4 days! 1 day of prep follwed by 3 days of hard plastering job done!

mix it 50/50 with watered down pva youll end up spending more on the wba than the finish

how do you meen?

i do about 40% strong PVA to WBA/Bond it and as i said i use it as an everyday primer one coat does all!
