Do sites over there not let plaster dry properly before painting? Often wondered that with likes of DIY sos or cowboy builders etc when skim barely aet and they papering and painting. Unless I've been misinformed but I always led to believe paint flakes off if not fully dry, seen it on both insides and outsides?just lost my temper with the prick agent booking in a paint spray when house isnt fully skimmed....f**k**g old cuunt head.

It'll stay soft on the wall - a bit like damp, which indeed it is.Do sites over there not let plaster dry properly before painting? The paint for new plaster is breathable so lets the moisture out without peeling.Do sites over there not let plaster dry properly before painting? They want to give there head a shake, anything below 3 c is bad practice.our renderers have pinned this on to stop it from freezing after being told to get it on today.
they never wanted to start.
hope this helps any of you fellas View attachment 21961

I'd rather sit it out, we put some Weber pral m on an elevation about 8 years ago the frost caught it, it crystallised and never set, the net result was scraping it all off and having to do it again. Lesson learnt, never again.

same again today .....were told to get the next plot on.
im sure it was colder today.
I moth balled all our sites at the moment certainly for this week at least.new build seems to be getting worse for lads being pushed on.
rendering in stupid temps.......paint spraying while houses still being skimmed.
im getting fed up with the shite to be honest

It was the same when I was on site as well... rendering in the wind and rain and blisteringly cold
dont forget your flat cap.I am driving up north tomorrow for a funeral mind :-(

never use pva as a sealer 50/50 emulsion is bestIt'll stay soft on the wall - a bit like damp, which indeed it is.
So it can peel under your roller if you're not careful. Happened to me once when I painted something in a hurry.
I think you can negate that by using PVA for a first coat rather than 50/50 paint and water.
