I haven't got a website but I do have a page on google I get roughly 6 calls a week from it.... Everything else comes from word of mouth
 
I get lots of calls via website that dan has done.page 1 of goggle and top most of the time
Get lots of s**t calls though for artex re skims and bedrooms that need doing which I don't bother with

I was the same bud, always had work on but the website coupled with a few other things I did gave me more leads giving me the chance to cherry pick the work I wanted
 
Your losing money if you dont have your van sign written.....................lots count of the jobs ive gotten from neighbours or passers by in the street ive been working in

I wrote a thread outlining some things that worked for me, bugger knows where it is. I remember giving a title that I would remember but I can't remember it, I must remember to work on my remembering

I don't really advertise.ive been trading for 10 years so always tendering for work.i have a dozen or so builders that I work for so plentry of work knocking about
Have van sign written but not sure this will find you work.it just makes people aware your around
I find it's harder finding decent blokes to help me out when busy more of a problem.

This is it.being able to choose what job you want is a good position to be in
I had 4 calls last week but none of the jobs took my fancy so didn't bother.although they might come in handy after Xmas when quiet.

How long have you been tendering for jobs bobby? We've been trying to get in touch with some firms QS to try and get on their radar but its hard getting a foot in the door. We're too small for big firms to take entire sites but gotta start building uo from somewhere. Did you just fall in to right place right time or did you mean to get in to taking on site work of your own?

Me too, in fact this year I've never been busier, I've had to work the last 5 weekends as I'm really struggling ( booking to much in to be honest) but yet still feel I'm missing a trick. I feel it's time to bite the bullet

Do u pay for seo mate? How do u keep top of listings
 
You can do your own backlinks to your website to promote your websit on google listings, like clicking on the website link you have in your signature
 
Yes when I build them I apply some tactics that works you will need to do a bit more but best to leave a site to sit for a duration of time to see where it goes naturally :-)
