weird!

Skimmed over some sand and cement today, trowel, trowel as normal for me. Got it all sorted n finished. Went back into the room to clear up after doing some patching and there were lots of little pits on the surface that werent there when i left it. Any ideas whats caused this?
The sand and cement was well and truly set having been done years ago when the fireplace was bricked up. I prepped as normal with 2 coats pva and skimmed over it when dry.

Little holes. no hollows, its dead flat. just little pock marks. Only where S&C is though.

Nope, used the same gauge as its only a little area.

nope, flattened it as soon as it picked up, then bashed straight over it again with what was left in me bucket.

tis a puzzle for sure, may be a little thicker, although cant be by much cos of the beads, checked across with straight edge. ah feck knows... Seeing as im doing the painting i'll easifill it :RpS_lol:
