I agree I think it's insulting to be asked!

I've never asked another tradesman in my life...or anyone else for that matter what they earn.

I've never worked on a day rate in 20yrs and never will!

Every job gets a price based on its merit...take it or leave it cants!!!

I mostly go on day. Just rock up and to be fair i couldnt price their jobs as they are poorly organised and some days nowt gets done

Exactly. A brain surgeon can perform a 80k operation in a day, bet he wouldn’t do day rate.

I actually can’t think of a situation where day rate would work. I’d have to slow right down to drag it out to however many days it takes to get the figure I want. Instead of 5 days at day rate just pay me what I want it’s done in 2 bitch
