So we are fast approaching the end of the year and 2014 has been an epic year for both PLasterers News and The forum and I wanted to know what has made it a year for you...

What tools made you better?

What advice has helped?

Or anything that has helped along the way :-)

s*p*r*lex & speedskim

Tips on using them both

Advice on back condition, passed work on to members with great results. :RpS_thumbsup:

Actually joining the forum was a good move,i dont know too many plasterers round our way,and there is always someone willing to help you out onn here and in turn i may be able to help others.also the nela sfhas made my troweling up far less labour intensive,so as far as plastering goes not a bad year for me:RpS_thumbsup:

Oh and took up the website offer, best money I've ever spent on advertising, far exceeded my expectations :RpS_thumbsup:

Nela s*p*r*lex and Refina mixer has helped me a lot this year along with the great tips and advice on the forum.

Joined the forum and loving it:RpS_biggrin: which lead to me reading all about then buying the Nela s*p*r*lex which I get on with well, had my van sign written and set up Facebook and Twitter pages which have all worked well together so all in all a decent year had. Oh and let's not forget the ice scraper :RpS_thumbsup:

that churn brush from toolstation that someone mentioned. brilliant :RpS_thumbup: and the ******** :RpS_thumbup:

Better than that...**** place....ha, ha...cant write naapl:RpS_lol:....

you have spring loaded heels ryan, I'll give you that.

Nothing beats Nela & eze spat and amazing customer services from Ryan. Shame about speedskim, would need get blue blades as the grey ones is bit too bendy / warp. Always money that needs investing into.

Loads of advice given by members. (I need to refrain giving advice where I am not sure) 9

Made me stronger after taking loads of micky due to my impersonal skills. Am trying to improve on that area.

Got some work from few members.

The icing on the cake is TPF Tour to BG mine as it's eye opener as an opportunity in a life time - makes me understand where gypsum comes from and appreciate lads working hard to dig it up deep into the ground.

Now 2015 is approaching and am sure it would be exciting year as will be doing a course with Gold Trowel and loads of other things.

Have happy festive season ahead :) ;) :D
Well said mate,it can be hard to explain your point on here sometimes,if you word it wrong it can sound completely different to the way you meant to say it.i do it all the time with texts

Nice one , am trying not to count to potatoes - it's just my English not being my first language. Got a degree, a -levels , former teacher (quit as too much paperwork), and learning hard to become good spread / fibrehand.
You obviously like the fibrous side of it and are motivated enough to get to where you want to be.ps most of us plasterers english is terrible anyway.

2014 @Nisus and I found each other :RpS_wub:

Hopefully 2015 will be as good and @Olican will live up to expectations/his reputation :RpS_wink:

Right I'm going to put a downer on it now.

Year started off pretty slow work wise, my ex Mrs got up 1 morning in Feb after 4 years and decided she was moving to nz to be with her family, 2 weeks later she was gone and had emptied the joint account took near 2k, 1.5k was what I had put in to get us moving towards buying a house, in hindsight she was a lazy ******* with no ambition, her family fooking hated me because I wouldn't move to nz., looking back she bled me dry, I gave her a home put snap on table even paid 6k to take us out to visit her family for her Xmas present a few years ago, as soon as I ask her to contribute she fooks off, lovely women.

I nearly lost lot, first few weeks was knocking myself out with brandy every night and was in a bit of a mess.

Then phone started ringing with work and I got some pretty nice biggish jobs coming in, pulled my $hit together and cracked on.

Work just snowballed, probably kept me going in some respects, I landed a nice external job rendering a nightclub in Sheffield which I made some good money on, bought myself a new Van and just threw myself into work.

Iv got more money now, work is great booked 5 external jobs for 2015, I dropped on with a very good van for 3k/4k less than it should have been.

And to top it all off I'm now knee deep in a 19 year old mixed race bird who absolutely knocks the socks off my ex.

Looking forward to 2015, working hard and hopefully buying my first small property to rent out which will sort my pension out.
