Which type of render mesh should i use for movement cracks internally? i know probably most will do but might as well get your opinion?

Cheers

For plaster then any cheap crap will do. Direct at Bradford or R&J. Wouldn't use it on a quality render job with my name on it.

If it was for skimming then SAS do a fine one 1m x 50m. Cost a mint though.

That was my thought cheaper the better ;), do you reckon just in the scratch or? Gonna be about 3 coats then skimmed, 60 odd mm thick! :rolleyes)

Don't use cheap mesh for skimming as will end up with bits fraying and poking out of the skimming the cheap stuff does never seems to cut good we use direct and pay 40 quid as they stopped selling cheap

If they want it put back solid, what material were you thinking of using?

Well it's an internal will which I think will be brick infill so don't know which way I will go yet to be honest.. May even stud it out then board.. An external wall opposite had a large movement crack as well which will need floating..

Maybe hardwall or S&S but S &S will take an age to cure..

Spanky, you know when it's the little things that bother you, well here's one..........It's S & fkn C

that's a C!!!!!!!!!!!

no al spanky uses sand and semen..........................t

Why not dab boards??? It'll take an age to dry out at that thickness

We had a job last year where the client wanted us to dab out to 30mm so I asked BG their opinion and they said don't dab that thickness under any circumstances.

What did you do int he end mate???

I have dabbed out this far before to allow for electric boxes, this had to be done as they could not be chopped in as we were going over a cavity drain membrain system in a basement.

The only reason they needed bringing out so far was because the tossers that work for the builder didn't want to chop any boxes in and as they had originally planned on doing the boarding themselves they'd stuck battens on the walls to give them a depth guide:confused:.
I told them to get the battens off, spoke to BG and said I wouldn't go against BGs guidance, so they chopped all the boxes in and had to change the door linings.
