hi,fellas, currently, wall paper stripping my flat & all the walls which are at the front of the flat facing the sea front have this black/foil paper on top of this realy thick brown lined backing paper? what is this stuff & what would be it's purpose?

Its a kunt to get off I know that!

I did a job for a mate who couldnt be arsed removing it so I pva'd it and skimmed it (I told him the potential risks) anyway it ended up sound.

Fcuk stripping that!! I'd put that WBA stuff on it and then skim it with board. Saves a lot of grief.

is it best to be left on then for a purpose? it's an 8th floor flat slap bang on blackpool front. none of the walls need plastering just lining them. i'll just get the decorator to line straight over em. cheers

hi,nelly, whats it for? is it for damp? the flats from the late 60's?

Ive only seen it on victorian aged houses I also think its some sort of vapour/insulation type of thing.

I aint 'adviseing' you go over it, I'm just saying I did, and got away with it.
