a question for the more experienced plasterers out there who do more domestic work than site.
i have 5yrs behind me but like i have said i prefer site work
sept 07 i did a "spare timer" in the evenings and weekend the job was...... artex staircase (again)
i got the job did it along with her front room got paid sweet.
couple of weeks ago (april 08) i got 22 missed calls from this customer, i got back to her and she said it was falling off.
so naturally i s**t myself and got round there asap to see for myself.
when i arrived the customer had the flu was in quite a mood, so i ask her to show me the problem.
went upstairs to see this, and a crack had appeared down the side of her 11 yr old sons door, that was it.
now this is where it goes tits up
1. the door on the sons room was hung by her husband, it was not hung properly therefore the door didn't fit in the frame.
2. when i was working there the son would have tantrums run upstairs past me int his room and slam the door.
however when i said this crack is more then likely down to the above problems i was told to leave. i did offer to repair the work free but still told to leave.
i can honestly say i was dreading doing that job but when i saw it painted on my return it looked the dogs b****x (good)
this is why i hate doing domestic work. some ppl just do not understand
