Hi mate are you busy my kitchen ceiling fell down leak in the bathroom.
what he is saying is am skint put a insurance claim in and I need a cheap job doing.

Next he says how things we are doing a big job and there loads of plastering , I will put your name forward.
Am thinking yer mate Ive heard it all before.

So then I say I tell you what you get the gear I will board and skim it you come around to mine I need some sockets
doing.
He says am to busy mate otherwise I would, what he really means is feck off my time is worth more then yours per hour.
So then I look him in the eyes and say well it's only 10' x 9' £250 should do it, He gulps and says can you do it for £200 no problem mate I say deal done that was the price I wanted anyway thinking to myself and he thinks he got a good deal. Maybe he has who knows what the insurance paid out.

No mate I know how this guy think's of old. You get a feel of things with folk when priceing jobs you have to read between the lines sometimes. Or do you think different to what am saying.

250 quid for a 10 x 9 ceiling i bet the insurance company would chuck easily double that at him, whenever i have come across there loss adjusters or whatever they choose to call themselves they have not got a clue , they just pluck a figure out of the air i think. my neighbour had a 12x11 ceiling done insurance job last yr 1000 or1100 quid!!!!!!!! can't remeber which it was..... board and skim and the b*****d never asked me so **** him next time he wants something doing for nowt

people scam insurance all the time have written quotes 4 at least 10 jobs 4 insurance claims this year & have never had 1 call back why because the bastards keep the money & think fuckit i will live with the crap ceiling so i charge £ 50.00 4 a written quote & how many put the phone down now every F*****g one TIME WASTERS & SCAMING BASTARDS :RpS_thumbup:

Always ask for the policy number - that sorts the genuine ones from them who want the money for themselves. Ask them - and watch their faces:RpS_sneaky:

I do not have any thing to do with insurance claims most times they are just after a letterhead of you.
