My friend did a small bathroom ceiling last week & the man phoned him today & said there's a big crack.
So i went to have a look for my friend because he's busy
& it's about 60cm long & about 2millimetres wide.
He said he scraped artex pva twice scrim tape & skim it.

So why did it crack even with scrim tape?
And what can i tell my friend to do?
Thank you

theres been plenty of posts on here about the pros and cons of pva-ing over artex.. the artex may be coming away from the board that its on, the skim may have dried too quick.... and so on

best sollution to avoid having to go back is to overboard and skim.

Ahmed.... " ur freind " keeps getting himself into some right messes doesnt he?
Did " ur friend " happen to go on one of these 1 week courses by any chance?
Its a good job " ur friend " has someone like you that can go onto an open plastering forum and get advice from knowledgeable time served guys that are sitting around doing nothing becuse all the plastering work is be taken by chancers / coursers with NO knowledge whatsoever

i've missed you mate

Smells fishy Ahmed

The lads on here will help u loads (they have helped me) but only if u cough to the fact that there is no "friend".

Also if your learning on the job the lads on here will be loathe to help you. If you need to practise do it in your own home or in friends relatives for free.
