whats the main duties on big sites?

ive only worked on domestic and was wondering what the main aspects of work on these big new builds are.

i would assume it was mainly skimming onto boards.

when i was workin on the sites the agents used 2 pi$$ me off cos all you ever hear off them is wen u gonna b finished, wen u gonna b finished.

I worked on some big sites, Emirates stadium we were skimming.... was ok good money!!

I also done a lot of work for sainsbury, only really rendering once again massive sites.

Site agents tend to only be slightly higher paid labourers..... They used to ask when we would be finished.....end of the day fella.... they come back and we'd packed up I thought you said youd be finished .... we are....the job aint!

The other one is just tell them 6 months that gets em panicking..... but then we used to wait around for a day for materials to get forked over ect....lol

skimming, hardwall, rendering, screeding, dot an dabbing, it's all there mate
and i agree site managers are tossers but you do meet the odd decent one that restores a bit of faith

throw what ever they want on as fast as you can but keeping the quality up

i worked on a site once were the manager kept telling us to slow down take it easy theres loadsa time here mate nice relaxed site this is gaz . haha was in my element . good times ;D

If you ever want to see headless chicken syndrome, tell them your pulling off site for a week because your next house/flat isn't ready. Watch them flap and beg.
