About time I got a new straight edge! Just got a triple pack of stabilla levels for £25 off the back of a lorry wether they are genuine who knows but £25 can't be bad..

had my straight edge for about 8 years who knows if its straight anymore..

they are cheap mate i just got exact same one 2 weeks ago and they about £40 on ebay and in shops, mine was cheaper as a good pal of mine runs a hardware and tool shop:-) they good quality spot on for boarding but have a rounded edge so not sure what they would be like for ruffing i am going to try next week

I bought 3 for a tenner the other day and got home and noticed the 'A' missing off the lettering down the side! :RpS_crying:

Do you men not use feather edges for dabbing?

box rules are for dabbing and feathers for ruling off...................:RpS_thumbup:..............bloody southerners......next you'll be saying you drink larger tops.....................:rolleyes)

I steal mine off unsuspecting coursers who leave them lying about with their speedskims, (keep the rules/edges and throw away speedskim obvioooously)

Without stating the obvious whats the difference between the faithful feather edge and the Faithful feather edge fine edge ??

What i mean is, Is there much difference between the two ? what does the fine edge do that the normal doesn't ?

Probably the sharpness of the point. I've seen some edges before that were really quite rounded at the point.....not ideal.

I just keep checking with a spirit level.

I always thought that banging a level put it off of accuracy somehow.

Not mine, I've had it about 3 years too and the one previously about 5 years.

They were both made by tough tools and not super expensive. I suppose it comes down to how well the vial is attached.

I would find it a massive ball ache now to keep swapping from the edge to the level to check.

Thats what i would rekon. I have one of these and it does have a round edge not sure it will be much good for ruling off but a good sturdy thing for dotting
