Every merchants got good prices at the minute mate, there struggling like (german word) .these big companies even more so.The bigger you are the harder theyll fall.Any company involved in building is struggling!!!
My local hire company gave me a price today for a scaffolding rig i needed 12 trestles and 16 13 foot planks deliverd to an address in the city they wanted £6 a treliss and £4 a plank for a weeks hire+£15 eachway delivery.i said to expensive ill ring around.
20 minutes later the manager rings me back saying dont bother ringing around ill sort you out a good price .He changes his tune to £3 a trellis £1 a plank and £5 delivery eachway £64.40 with the vat and delivery a massive saving on ther original price.
He knows he cant afford to lose a good customer or any customer really.I was happy with that price and never did ring around any one else.
you gotta barter where you can nowdays its a buyers market

I have heard this, apparently you can go into any high street shop and demand 20% discount usually they say no until you ask to speak to the manager and if you make a fuss you can get it but i am no good in those situations and just pay to make life easier
