work at the moment

hows it going for every1? im finding after a loooong sloooow xmas the phone is ringing like mad.

any1 the same?
 
im busy with work but the phone aint been ringing like it used to.
I redecorated a full house last week got to tile bathroom then thats done, from weds onwards i start on a kitchen refit tiling flooring lot so 2 more weeks there.
After that i got a full house re skim to do then paint awfterwards.

not too bad at the mo.. keeping the wolves from the door.. you busy on site or domestic stuff..

i dont do site. extensions and the odd new build. but one offs. im doing a new build inside and out at the mo, also got a kitchen skim, a bedroom reskim, a 2 storey extension, a conservatory, and 4 outside jobs. and just worked yesteday and today!!!

weekends.. you getting greedy.. good stuff.. sounds promising hopefully these are signs that things are picking up. glad you busy. :)
 
Got 15 apartments to slab and skim and 2 one off houses slab and skim with mono on the outside,site work is a fight to get money in from though.
 
I have worked non stop for two weeks doing evenings and weekends and now im back to fingering my arse. Only got two days in so far this week
 
I had 3 days last week...Iv'e got one day this week.....But next week i'm booked in all week, and hopefuly got a load of ceilings to do the following week....I would like to be busier, but just ticking over at the moment..

Going to try and get myself a nice website...When it picks up a bit..
 
its getting into firms half the coonts dont even answer the phone .......theres a smattering but not enough :(
 
Thats what i hated about subbying you always got the same if you phoned companies they take your number and never phone you back the only way in is if your recomended or knew someone.
 
Theres a few people who seem to walk from firm to firm but thats only because they been subbying for years and if some one offers 5p more there gone we started going that way but it does piss people off and you go down there list but they always phone you back ;)
 
Yeah, unless you know the contracts manger, all that ever happens is the secetery takes your name and number casue no one is in the office....Bloody nightmare...
 
just had a call off a lad whos living room i plastered a while ago then i did his dining room a month or so back, wants his kitchen dry lining and skimming, and also wants his bathroom doing. he recommended me to his mum aswell so ive had a fair bit off work the family, going to do bits for them at night to get it done as soon as, i don't mind helping repeat customers that little bit extra, and they appreciate it unlike most!

iv bin working for myself for bout 4yrs now. i had a nice group of builders i worked for that kept 3 of us going flat out. fell out with 1 of em, 1 of em has been out of work for ages, 1 jacked it in and got an office job. so that left me scratching my head as to what to do. 4yrs of trying to make contacts and half have gone.

i do think its the best thing thats happened to me work wise. it made me go and really find work when before i had got complacent with wot i had. and iv met a few nice new fellas that makes a change from the w.ankers i was working for before. but a lot of it is who u no unfortunatly.
 
Had a few calls for work this morning, so looks like i'm booked up for the next few weeks now.....Sound..

All i seem to be doing this year is h/s/l............Dunno why....
