It is desperate unless your getting a decent day rate and plodding on, its gonna be a hard graft on price this is why ive gone back to domestic, its hard goin getting the work and there is competition but site work is getting harder and harder for less and less money.

Im starting to think that, weird though you still get the odd firm paying 3 quid but 120 daywork, there more than happy for you to earn a couple of hundred quid a day but on daywork when you say sorry I need an extra tenner to cover fuel they go no sorry can't afford it

They must have it weighed up that for 120 you're not gonna kill yourself but will leave a better job of the walls that you do put on :RpS_thumbup:

The daywork is usually pickin all the s**t up or putting someones work right so its lost profits, I got sick of hearing its the rates take it or leave it but i do jump on now and again but really hate it and the H&S is not too bad on the jobs i go on.

...I was thinking of jumping on site too...but it seems here at the moment domestic and refurbs are picking up.

It's all s**t anyway innit, in ten years the rates will be the same and they'll be paying 15 quid an hour in tescos

It looks s**t and there's no work for it, apart from that nice bloke I wish you all the best luck in life

I wanna see the first job where someone has decided they want their wallcrete pebbledashed :RpS_laugh:

Or the first post on here in years to come:

Hi 10 years ago we had some northern bloke wallcrete our house in a stone effect.
So my question is can i render over it in sand & cement?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

:rolleyes)
