Why is it people say this?

After my efforts of plastering I have had a few marks here and there, nothing terrible but kinda what you would expect from an amateur. Before I painted everything I gave these a light sand and they came out fine.

Just wondered why people say this? or is it just for jobs where someone has really ballsed up a whole wall and sanding the whole thing down to the grain would be impossible.

i think this is common practice now on most newbuilds :RpS_biggrin: ive seen patchers sanding walls down if its that bad and a light sanding wouldnt bring it up to scratch it would need to be re-skimmed

i thought you just paint straight onto multi once its dry a at least a few days later.

you mean a light sand to give it a key?

Herds back in the days of old when i was younger the painters used to run their sanding pole over the wall before every coat of paint this is how it should still be done

I kango mine for grip purposes and score it with angle trowel, a little sanding is fine if it upsets a spread, hold him tight...
