alright got a coving job to do havent done much got the cove easy mitre block for gypsum 3inch and 4inch which is sound but some of the cuts aint 45degrees not sure how to calculate angle of cut needed and is it best to flick a line and put the adhesive on the wall and ceiling or on coving if anyone could give us a general guide that would be great cheers trainee spread :D

If the non 45 degree angle is internal, cut the cove to length and offer it up to the ceiling. Draw a pencil line along the ceiling edge up to the angle. Do the same with the adjoining piece. Mark on the cove where the lines cross. This is where to make your cut, with the cove, wall edge uppermost, in the mitre box. If the off angle is an external, cut the cove a couple of inches longer and mark in the same way. Put the adhesive on the cove, not the wall.

All I would add to tonys advice is when cutting obtruse angles, place the coving on its ceiling edge and think snooker cue. Good luck the joints fill well with cove adhesive.

even if the join's arnt perfect....... they can be filled with interior filler after, usally done by the decorator's.
