When using the hedgehog, dip it in boiling soapy water, thus

Give a good hard scrub, but remember not too harsh or it'll be out of action before you know it:

Go carefully :RpS_thumbup:

What about an ECO power float using hedgehogs.........................:RpS_thumbsup:

And if it dosn't work I can take it to bits and shove it up the .... Of the bloke who put the sodding stuff on the wall in the first place!!:RpS_cursing:

If the paper wont come off just pva and skim over it. Or is it just wood chip you can do that on.?:RpS_blink:

Possibly dust on wall before skim applied, possibly no scratch to hold it, possibly dried too fast,
get rid of loose plaster, pva and bond in the patches, give it all a weak pva then a second when first dries, ready for skimming then,
I have had a closer look at the render surface now that all the patches have been exposed and there is no visible sign of a scratch coat key but it isn't dusty so will just pva and skim . I wont be rushing to get the steamer out too quickly in future!
