Grey plasterboard on ceiling under wallpaper

Can anybody offer advice with this please, stripped some old wallpaper off the ceiling and under is a grey coated plasterboard, had a plasterer out and he's advised it's plasterboard just a bit concerned if there's something in it like asbestos before I start removing more paper, house is from 1950s.

I was advised it could just be skimmed over again if it's not in great condition, once all wall paper has been removed.

1950s poss. plaster lath or baseboard ceiling. It has been papered because of the cracking.
