On what grounds do they shut accounts? Just out of spite if they don't like you winning?

They don't even need to tell you why they don't like people who win regularly
In some cases they don't close your account but they limit the amount you can have on so you don't bother eg, under £10!
one day i placed an each way flag bet online with coral, first one got beat, next 3 all won, 8/1, 12/1, 14/1, won 2,400 quid , happy days,...........got paid out okay everything fine,........week later , logged on i had been restricted to a max 1.00 a day bets,......i complained , and they reopened the account,
similair thing with bet 365, ......but account was closed, they said it was a management decision, no explanation as to why, account closed,
you are quite right smoother ,the bookies dont like people who win regular

The house always wins (overall), so a few customers who regularly win aren't going to break them. I don't see why they are allowed to discriminate. Bunch of effin crooks, but if they want to make hundreds of millions off the losses of their customers, there should be legislation to prevent them discriminating against a minority of customers who beat them at their own game.
