Alright lads got a question ive got a kitchen to float and skim which is pretty much all red London brick the walls are all over the shot, so will probably have to build it out in a few coats. the customer is a right pain in the ass been on everyone's back there very picky so got to make sure the jobs spot on. with the red London brick what's the best way to do it to make sure it doesn't crack. Pva, coat of bonding then float and skim? ive got some pictures of it ill try and upload.

cheers

is hardwall not an option, pva only if there very dry, throw some render mesh on too, if you use sand and cement keep it about six to one one sand cement lime, put 3mmm fibres in and render mesh as well

If it was my job, i would sand and cement it, five sand to one cement, with a waterproofer plastizer in it, the breeze block could do with a scud coat with sbr the day before, put two handfuls of 3mm fibres in each mix, if you have concrete lintels you could scud them too or use bonding.

i can use hardwall sand and cement might be a right pain to use just because of where the kitchen is and getting all the gear plus i havent got a mixer,

thanks for the help john.

hardwall is easy to use, only concern would be any damp in the wall, but I am sure you know that its dry enough for hardwall. best of luck

Rough out the wall under that lintol first thing if it's that bad, then float the room with hardwall and skim it in the afternoon :RpS_thumbup:

is it just me or does the floor look canny low compared to the bottom of the back door??. i would D&D cos im gash at floating

they dont want dot and dab other wise i would they got some special kitchen going in, think im gonna pva bond then hardwall it.

Looks like the ceiling has been skimmed already to me.

You might get a crack around the edge of the ceiling if theirs no scrim joint.

Get the ******* sparks to tidy them tails up as well.
