Honestly Danny, You will never look back on re-skims!!!

Spreads lovley... sorts everything out artex ,dodgy paint, tile addy, crumbly walls, bad boardwork the lot....:RpS_thumbup: you will hate you using finish alone after!!!

Did this for the first time last week over some artex worked a treat. Great tip from TPF.
 
Thanks for the replies. Definitely no distemper and the original plaster was good and solid, not crumbly, friable, blown etc.
There are two sets of suggestions.
1) Use a sealer
2) Use some form of bonding (thin coat/blue grit etc)
One kills the suction and one just works with it. Any reason i should go one way or another or is it just whatever you prefer?
