tape narrow cracks on lime ceiling before skim?

Anyone have success applying paper tape over narrow cracks on lime ceiling, otherwise soundly bonds to lather, prior to a skim with gypsum?

The ceiling will be screwed for extra security.

I would never over skim a lathe ceiling always 100% board & skim

Most lathe ceilings have been up 70 year plus putting extra weight on it isn't what I would do either pull down or over board

I over skimmed one once and never again... the customer did not want to overboard it...

If they want it done tell them risks,,,done tons of them,,never had one fall.
Had a few re crack on taped cracks,,that aint unusual,,,that's the risk as long as you give them option.
