Just hold the trowel flat against a plasterboard and roll the corners up - They are only made of tat and put up no fight at all.
In my experience both Nela & Refina get worse with age & work best when nearly new.

If I were you I would get a Marshalltown Duraflex 13" trowel.
They never seem to get a mention on here, but are a superb compromise of flexibility & durability.
It lays on flat and finishes up nicely from new with no rattling or rippling normally associated with unworn trowels.
