K-Rend with TC15

Hi everyone.. i have taken on a job that has 3 different substrates to render..
1. Concrete block
2. Cement carrier board
3. Brick.
Not to up on K rend.. and not had any response from technical guys over the phone.
All the info i have gathered is to use HP12 and mesh it and then TC15 colour over the top a day or two later? I am guessing i need to prime all the different substrates in same primer? And HP12 all over… then tc the final colour and plastic scrape to finish??..also do people only use K rend primers or do they have their own? (Sbr) thanks for any help

Whats the point of this forum?? I have silicone rendered before.. just asking for helpful advice.. if you cant give that then whats the point?

you obviously were born with a bag of k-rend up ya arse then!! Like never had to try it just came natural lol.. i been spreading for 40 years off and on and that is harder graft than silicon!!! If you cant help with base coat advice then butt out

Its for a friend who is terminal…all the slab work is done and cement carrier board is up due to fibre glass coated walls (it was a koi carp pond).. i get the banter but tbh i just joined here for a bit of help.. thanks guys

Hp12 will stick like s**t to a blanket on all them substrates . Trust me I've done it many times and it's fine to this day . Most lads will say hpx or hp14 . Personally I couldn't give a b*ll***s if it's hp SAUCE . BUT GOOD LUCK EITHER WAY

I agree I love hp12.

Quality all rounder

I like the speed it sets, adhesion, availability, the look of the finish - and colour. (And the fact you can usually bring it back a bit.)


Bad bits, thickness limitations, and occasional slump.

I sometimes wodge some fibres in the water first - that makes for an outstanding mix.

For anyone to carry out a polymer system without training is stupid. It is nothing like a basic sand cement or lime render.

Bit uncalled for but obviously you are older than me and that gives you the right to talk down to every person that YOU think are not as good as you!! I dont care…but that is too personal a put down for me calling you ‘son’… i dont care how old you are.. you dont know me you dont know what i have done or been through in my 64 years! And tbh i dont give a s**t… manners dont cost a thing.. as we both know… i came on this site to gain information and hopefully learn from ‘older’ more wise people.. all i have had is put downs… you being one of them.. no need for it.. they say the younguns need to learn/earn respect! Other way round. To all the people who have advised/helped me.. thankyou.. to you Malc’ i hope have a happy end to a bitter life. Peace and love.. ex forces lol

I was only trying to explain to you that you need some training in thin coat render systems before you can hope to turn out a decent job.
It is not something that you pickup over a weekend like a dose of the clap!
You tell me that you were in the armed forces. Was it the same reg. as my good friend TINY TOM, The Royal Berks?
