Just ordered a marshall town steel and the thing is so rigid feels awful to put on with leaving tram lines everywhere even though I've rounded the heel corners. Just compared it with my old trowel and it's a lot thicker in width. Is there any reason for this ? (There's way to much difference for it to be just general breaking in)

Feels too rigid like no give in it at all, like the actual sheet of steel feels way thicker than my usual trowel
Probably just new trowel problems mate never-ending haha just need get used to it

Marshalltown QLT trowel is a basic trowel from China. Dirt cheap in B and Q, Screwfix etc.

Always seemed ok to me after they’re broke in, but will see how this goes. Just replacing tools after having them knicked.

It’ll do me mate. Come to think of it, I do have a MT carbon somewhere but it’s a 14. 13 is about right for me

Give it a good wet n dry sanding with 600 grit especially the long edges before use and ongoing regularly as well
