Straight skimming over green moisture boards

How long have you been plastering?
About 30 years.Started mixing browning in a bath in site work, mixing finish in a bucket with a stick and posser.Helped with boarding, got decent at it.Started trowelling up walls for bloke I worked for.Carried in from there, got a nvq from a night course at college.A lad had someone let him down, for this job,so I said I would help him out It's a garage conversion no idea why he boarded it ,in moisture boards. Was hearing mixed messages on whether to use PVA,SBR,grit before skimming,so am asking on here. Thanks is that enough info

Well you’re a feisty little cherub ain’t you!
30yrs and zero knowledge gained.

Go straight on them you bender, put plenty on or you’ll be standing around with your finger up your arse……………. Wait, maybe you’ll enjoy it more? :birra:

Typical Cockney know it all clever c**t
Proud The Karate Kid GIF

Should be pretreated with (BG head) Thistle Bond-it for adhesion. Pretty pointless skimming onto MR board as you are introducing gypsum to a moisture resistant material. I’ve seen a lot of failures, mainly above the shower due to the steam. Another thing to consider is the weight of the tiles which can pull the plaster away from the boards.

Could you please remind us all of the retail cost of thistle bond it?

that shouldn't be an issue for a site slag though should it?

If someones moaning about the cost of materials to do the job correctly you are either not pricing up right or you need to work for better clientele and fk the HMO's off in Bradford.
It's no problem to me dickhead I do t use the horrible shite thank fuk . Now get to wickes with your tape measure hanging out of your homo snickers pants

So cost makes it ok to do it incorrectly? I thought better of you than that.
lol, really? Now come on matey!
We all know customer pays materials plus 20% :coffe:

I’m talking about the tight arse cowboy builders out there, no way are they using thistle bond it @£95 a tub. No matter the colour of the boards they’re all getting skimmed raw dog style.
