Did micro over an impey tray about 6 years ago. Used a product called feather it first on floor over tray and fibre backed rubber tape. Then micro over the feather it. Worked really well and still know the guy who I did it for and still no leaks and still looking good. The feather it is miles...
My dad has one similar. Works a treat. Would definitely make one if you have the pallets available. Just need a cover to stop the rain. My uncle has a massive log store on his property. Similar to a gazebo in shape. Roughly 4 x 4 metres of a canopy roof on 4 big legs. All 4 sides are open for...
Similar to Andy. I store them outside for a year before bringing them in. Then they live in log store I made in alcove. When I'm short I order a tonne from merchants. About 90 quid for a tonne bag of dried hardwood delivered. Also buy there coal too. About 25 quid for a 50kg sack
Back half of house is open plan with kitchen, dining and snug area so it's ok. Front room on other side gets very warm if you crank it up. May as well have panelled the walls and made a sauna. Missus loves it though. If it gets too hot we just get naked. Winner winner.
I see it like a really...
Yes mate, flopped massively. First coat did as it should but the second could be smeared off. spoke with supplier who train people and they had a complete 'dont know what to do' and followed up with they only supply and distribute. Ended up cutting my losses and putting a laminate down...
You should be able to make the externals sharp with an external corner trowel. If you was to find a bead to venetian up to then you will still see the bead just like after plastering. Venetian is the decoration like paint and should cover the bead. I would practise more with your external edges...
Course won't give you experience marra. As a plasterer already it wouldn't be as difficult to learn and pick up the basics. My honest opinion would be this, if you can spare the money to learn the basics and your interested in the products and what can be done then get involved. The course...
Not bad mate. Busier than ever at minute. Keeping up with venetian but not pushed it for a while. Got some coming up in next few months. How are you doing
Never experimented with different colour products other than plaster manufacturers own pigments. I can tell you though that acrylic and lime don't mix well. If you put a lime plaster ontop of an acrylic it will fall off when drying out. I imaging you would possibly get a problem if doing it with...
Anyone else starting to experience material issues. Couldn't get beads this week, all TP had was hook ons. Said they aren't expecting anytime soon. Was also told in there plaster expected to rise but to 20% in January. Cement is up 22% already apparently due to fuel, drivers etc etc.
Going to get a dewalt auto feed and there is one with yellow handle and one with a black handle. Cant seem to find out out difference if any. Any one have any idea
Hard to see from pic but there are definitely raised edges.
Agree with Plas1 it's not something you can just copy from a video and do it. Like the colour though
Other than catching Mackerel for bait, the only thing caught that could be eaten was thrown back in for being a bit small. So it was fish and chips for 8 ordered from local chippy :X3:
Went off Anglesey on Saturday. Top day with a bit of rain in the afternoon. Caught an abundance of dog fish, couple of bollusc and mate caught a red Gurnard.
Built a garden room. Wrapping walls and ceiling with 8x2 T&G moisture resistant floor sheets. Roof is getting GRP. Originally was going to clad the walls with timber but our peg now likes render. So can render be applied directly to the wood with a grit primer and mesh or is it a no go. Open to...
Try david Owen at Actris. Their micro cement is tough and they spent years making sealers for products before micro cement. There sealers are tough too. https://achtisgroup.com/
He's a nice bloke and spent many hours over the years taking ne through products and uses etc. Sure he will chat...
No changes to anything in the room.conditions as they have been for years.
Gable end wall on the other side of it and it's a 90's build house.
If its moisture getting into the mortar line somehow I would have thought it would start at top or bottom due to leak or damp and you would start to...
Always called it a hand board. Solely down to my beginning that's what everyone else called it. Well more than it was called a hawk. I always assumed the name hawk came because you hold it the same way you would use your arm for a perch when calling your hawk in falconry. Now I cant get Billy...
Got no interest in all the arguing. I am quite passionate about venetian plaster and like others I have paid to learn properly then spent years continuing it so here's some advise regarding the "will it stick?" question. It might, but using the correct primer that marrys up to that...
Looks like it has failed where the micro cement meets the tile. This is the weakest spot and most likely to fail area. The water by now is behind the micro cement depending what the sub strate is that the micro cement is on too. It's a waste of time trying to dry it out as you would be waiting...
