Might get some hate for this but I’ve been working in a few folks house lately. I’ve probably rubbed more shoulders with folks in the Asda queue and been more at risk . I get the customer to open the door for me and politely ask them to stay in another room . I take my own kettle.
It’s because they are closing coal fired power stations . The ash that is produced is what they use in the knauf and sinait boards . They are white inside and cut nicer . They BG boards are basically made from finish .
I reckon I’ll get up one morning and find van has been robbed . Dewalt mixer , Hilti gun , makita all still there but the bastards took my last 2 bags of multi
Absolutely no way . It was shite before this lockdown and will be worse after . Companies will use it as an excuse to bring prices down . I will just live off all the money I saved on my domestic work until this lockdown is over
i ordered at 8am and got the confirmation. I ordered 9.5 but wanted 12.5 . So I rang the store and said can you swap them . She said no . Even though they had them in stock . Apparently if the website says you can’t have them it’s tough s**t
Probably same reason why wickes would sell me a 9.5mm 8x4 but not a 12.5mm 8x4 . Even though both were in stock . I had a argument with manger over the phone . Didn’t make any sense
I was buying this until he mentioned the vaccines have a microchip inside to track us . Don’t think i need to put my tin foil hat on just yet . It will make a great movie though
I got the last of the gear from my trade point today . They told me they have no more deliveries now . They just been getting stock from smaller branches .
If you chopped all the plaster off completely I would of dabbed it . If you only pulled off the loose stuff and patched in with bonding or hardwall then it will most likely crack where new plaster meets old
Cancelled all my work . Gonna live off my savings. Not gonna lie I’ve never wanted to get back to work
So bad . Just got to avoid the temptation. If I’m
Doing this then I’m going full hog .
See you on the other side brothers and sisters .
You really are a muppet . The lockdown means anyone moving around the country without real reason . I’ve sacrificed all my work to protect my family and others . I’m losing money left right and centre . But if folks see me out working then they think we’ll I will do the same .
Thing is the customers are just as bad letting them do it . I know my conscience is clear by staying at home . I’m doing my bit . Even the jobs I could do I need my lad to help me board the ceilings and how do i know where he has been .
To be fair I’ve had no cancellations (yet) . In fact most folks are worrying that it will be me cancelling on them . I had two texts today from customers asking me if I’m still coming next week.
I’ve always gone with pva mate . They only issue I’ve had with artex is sometimes I’ve had the dreaded bleb mid trowel , before you know it half the ceiling is on the floor . Over the years I’ve been able to be a good judge on how the artex will react . For example if I’ve done a ceiling on a...
I’ve noticed that the cemtone stuff is really smooth and doesn’t have much grit in it . I know it rolls on better but maybe that’s why it’s failing (not gritty enough ) . Now the thistle bond it is expensive but it’s really gritty to the point where you need to keep stirring it because all the...
Depending how big the room . A pack of coving cost about £30 max and will do an average room and will go up in an hour . Sometimes it’s just as cheap to pull cove off, board skim and cove again
I think it will f**k up when troweling up . So I won’t get paid on the day . I reckon if it trowel up ok then there is a good chance it would stay on . But don’t want the risk
