Ooh glass finish very good.No I'm saying the wall is f**k**g flat with no trowel marks in it and then if I wanted I could give it a finish like that with a trowel or plastic
You need your trowel to put it on the wall. When it goes on the wall it goes on FLAT. Everyone to they're own.Thank f**k I'm nearly finished at this game couldn't stand starting now. It's a very simple game plastering.
Now and again..And like I said previously bg call it Ribbing so it's to Do with the material. Dont tell me speedskim solves this because it doesn't I know lads who've tried speedskim to see if eliminated them and it didn't. Just get your walls flat with your trowel which any decent plasterer can...
This has got nothing to do with speedskim and I am very disappointed. If there are any other photos available I will reluctantly view them to see if they change my views on this tool.
I presume you're referring to me.When you get flown round the world to do squash courts and finish your day at two with plenty of brews then I might take notice of you.
No.Tried it and can't see what everyone is going on about. If you've got a good trowel the wall is flat anyway when you put it on so I can't see what difference it makes. And yes I have tried it on numerous occasions and always come to the same conclusion
Take off jacket/jumper place on speedskim in corner of room. Mix plaster. Transfer plaster from bucket to hand board, transfer plaster from handboard to wall. Trowel up a couple of times and finish with a plassy if preffered, clean up. Remove jacket/jumper from speed skim and place on body. Say...
They're technical department admitted it I rang them to ask the question. I know it's your website but stop trying to defend them they know they've got a problem but won't admit it now as it will cost them a lot of money. They've even got a name for it "Ribbing" like I said.
Worked with this when I was an apprentice. Its unforgiving this s**t. Two of the older spreads had to give up the game because they're hands were f**k*d after 12 months without gloves. It also has its own finishing plaster you can't use multi.
Well why did they admit about 10 years ago they had a problem called Ribbing and they were looking into it.Also a guy who used to work there told me they knew they had a problem and the cause was probably bad clay as the mines now are getting near the end if not the clay they have also started...
I'm 56 and have tried in the past to get into teaching. Been doing this job now since I was sixteen and been all over the world plastering squash courts and teaching local labour how to do them. Because I didn't do my advanced craft I am not qualified enough to teach. Advance craft in the old...
I hated wearing gloves on site but had too for health and safety. Never take them off now and my hands don't crack up and feel shite.Recomend them highly take a bit of getting used to but well worth it
Listening to bullshit spreads all my life telling me they earn £1500 to £2000 a week on site where the prices are shite.I just roll my eyes and pity them now
I despair for this world. Explaining how best to take a piece of cellophane off a f**k**g pallet of Plaster.Mind you it's probably part of your nvq.Thank f**k I've nearly finished with the building game.
No.I actually used a machine for the first time at mcvities in Manchester when we did the silo rooms. The last time was in Germany mid nineties could never understand why it never took off over here but somebody once said that Gypsum were that far behind with suitable materials that they and...
It just makes me laugh all these young pups wasting money on something that probably helps them but is totally unnecessary if they were taught properly in the first place. scrim and mixers are the only improvements that have been beneficial over the years and I was using machines in Germany in...
Twice and a Polish if it needs a Polish. Been doing it 40 years so don't need to be told I'm doing it wrong and the speedskim enables you to do it with 1/2 a trowel because it's brilliant. Like I said if you do it flat in the first place you won't go far wrong
Never read so much bullshit.Plastering is quite a simple but skilful trade.Skimming is very simple you spread it on FLAT then you give it a second coat FLAT.Then you trowel it up.Simple really. The only things over the years that have made this job easier are 1:Stick on scrim 2:Electric...
No you don't mate unless you want to work for £2.20 dabbing between £2 and £2.75 skimming,£2.50 floating and have the arse mithered out of you for health and safety.
