Are you saying not to remove all render just to fix the damaged area and re-render this?
When you say in one coat ... is that paining the fixed area?

Hello I have a 1930's terraced house. The front exterior decided to come off and I have a gaping hole.
I'm not sure if I need to re-render and fix the full front or fix the hole and paint. The above bay window had grey patches so I would rather prevent this happening in the future.
