1 coat skimming with supaflex

On a bag of multi 4 or 5 years ago the instructions said one coat. Only changed when some people started getting the infamous tiger stripes.

:RpS_lol: I do enjoy a good "100metreaday" thread , certainly brings out the best in folk :RpS_thumbsup:

If they are skimming 100m2 a day fair play to them, if they arent + full of shite i cudnt care less, up to them if they want to bullshite! Would like to see some1s work after they done 100m2 day in day out tho! Could prob do it myself but think id be having the next day off!

to be fair @algeeman i was only asking out of interest. i don't see why you couldn't do 100m 2-3 days a week but i'd have thought 50-70 is more realistic as a daily average. i'm not really for/against 1 coating. truth be told if i'd seen it done and the quality was still there i'd probably do it myself. i was slating Nela trowels until last week when i used one and now i own one. i've tried a few things for getting mixes on quicker but for me 2 coats is best. if there was a happy medium for site work i think its fair game as long as it looks good painted

I liked what you had to say up until the Nela bit !!! Ggrrrrrrr lol I prefer Refina but the best by far is Marshall town Xtralite :RpS_thumbup:

Refina!? i can't stand the handles on them personally, i did also buy one of them foam plastic refinas to try but not convinced about that so far.

He would like you both to join @cassie birthday boy for some "friendly" holds on his wrestling MMA mats at his gym :rolleyes)

What does mma stand for?

Mostly male activity

My moist anus

Meaty man action

Maybe @cassie can fill us in....:RpS_unsure:

They (foam backed plastic) are only to piss the decorators off for a final polish as it were as for handles ?? I can't stand Nelas cork or plastic as they are too small. Refina s*p*r*lex a cut above the Nela too but Marshall Town Xtralite are the daddy always have been always will be as you can do everything with them and can take a drop and not be a right off unlike perhaps some of the other choices?

lol.. wankers... it stands for macho manly areseholes.. thought everyone knew that.. just off to bang my daily 60 bags on.... or maybe seeing as its last day, might go to morrisons fill truck up, have a breakfast and do one ceiling and fuk it...oh decisions...

I have yet to see a good sponger .... not saying they dont exist just i have never seen a good one...

Theres always exceptions to every rule and just because you can't do something doesn't necessarily mean that no one else can, there's some proper jealousy to the point of bitterness on here Like it eats some people up that there may in fact be better, quicker or neater plasterers about.Like any other trade or industry there's always going to be a few that can do what the majority can't, to categorically state that something is impossible based on nothing more then the fact you couldn't do it yourself is pretty pathetic in my opinion. If every horse was equal they'd all be running the national.

not jealous mate - just realistic. I've been in the trade 10 years and I'm a superviser - my motto is quality over quantity, I wouldn't allow them to do that too! I've never came across a lad who can hoy a full room including a ceiling on in one! Don't know who would want to do that either, Yes I could throw on 100m2 a day if I'm working 10hours + a day!
Wish I never commented now as there's a minority are so much up there own ars* it's unreal! Anyway am away to order materials for Monday I better order them 10 bags as a lot of people think that this is the norm! Have a good weekend lads!

I did 50m2 today.. it rose to 70 whilst on my way home.. went to 80 pulling into driveway... may go to 100 later in gym...lol..

No bitterness here .... just laughter to the point where my sides hurt :RpS_thumbsup:

Anyone who says the finish of 1 coating is as good as 2 coating can honestly go and suck donkey balls ...

When I first started as a lab my gaffer used to put on 80m a day that was with the improver who was with him before me and that used to pay all three of us so it just shows now if one man has to chuck 100 m plus on just to earn a living they are properly screwing us over on rates , I know a lad now who gets on site for 6am has nowt to eat all day just sips juice finishes at 430 pm and that's not taking his travelling time into account eats his sarnies on way home ! If that's what somebody wants to do so be it that's why I left site work couldn't stand it anymore like working for Apple in China !

I done two bags today...:RpS_thumbup:

na just made that up, twoz only one n a half:RpS_biggrin:.....anyone jealous:rolleyes)

Poor rates is no excuse for doing half a job ... the spreads a mug if that's the case.

The day I justify to myself that its ok been to 1 coat when I know I should 2 coating is the day I quit plastering as that's when standards slip in every aspect of your business !!

Just like to say I work with @scottie5 what he says he dose it what he dose and it is all two coat finished to a very high standard.
