80 boards a day

why should people tell you where to look,do it yourself.

and what course for mono for 200quid? and youve just said yourself youd get 15 quid a metre for mono instead of a few quid for skimming, so isnt that 200 quid worth paying.

well for one i always find my own work and i aint got 200 quid and two i was only bantering about wish someone would tell me thats why there was a big smiley face at the end of it the course i was offered was in monocouche render and since i posted that i have spoken to a few of the other lads on site who have done it and they are only getting a day rate for it now because theres not enough panels ready to do at one time ,

fair enough.
i wouldnt waste your money on a course tho, id go and work with the lads who are doing the mono work, youl llearn a lot more.
i started a lad last year who had done a rendering course, and he might aswell of spent it up against a wall, it only gave him a basic idea of what was involved, and he learnt more with us in the week than on the course and was getting paid for it.

he now works in Tesco, so maybe we scared the shite out of him.:-0

well put it this way. at 1.85 p/m skimming you need to skim 81m per day to make £150. with mono at £15 p/m you need to finish 10m. and day work ur prob gonna get £120. thats still 65m of skim. id be having a good think about what i wanted to do if i were you.

if your prepared to travel milton keynes sort of area you can get some better rates than 1.85 btw

they are ******* laboures....a skilled person never line up 80 boards a day and never accept 3£ a meter an metals

that because they are second fixers...they only line up boards..the real fixer never do 80 boards a day in price...i can do 30 on daywork

Hampshire we get aright price £3 on the metal £1.20-£1.50 on the board depends on type of board that's per skin (that's first fix) closing up is £1 on the insulation and what eva price of board is mf bout £5.00 complete

Are we arguing with each other again because rates are sh1t and let's face it were all getting ripped at any of these rates.

The skim rate and mono rates always equate usually they got it worked out so a spread earns a spreads money.

Wet days and scaffold don't get considered anymore you just don't earn.

Labour across the board should be at least 30% more

I'm using The Plasterers Forum Mobile App

What price tacking nowadays then obviously areas come into it but I reckon min £3 m2 then plus for agg and small areas.

80 boards a day

I wont do it for those rates lucius. I haqve a firm so to even pay lads that I would need at least an extra pound/m but the jobs I win on th plaster are far and few between in fact i throw most plastering tenders straight in the bin. I have a cut off point and that was reached long ago. why bother witha hard trade and stress when i can do shifts in a warehouse for the same money and learn german litening to my headphones at the same time? plus breaks! its ano brainer.

My new motto is stay at home and keep the money you already have instead of taking a plastering contract and losing money

why i packed up

Start a site of 13 houses in a couple of weeks. £2.50 a square for tacking.
