Well that's one way to waste a **** load of timber to attempt to fix their feck up.You are right it does not look good. All i can think of is they attempted a st Georges flag at the start of the world cup, They lost interest when we were knocked out in the group stage

Nice job :-)

I have a couple of soak aways i use... if you stack them on top of eacb other I can do 3m high lids... next to esch othervthey makd a great platform :-)

Not sure if it would be the best idea me teaching Tommy my bad ways of plastering:RpS_blushing:

why not plaster all the board if its there ? chippies will love you for it , and as they are on the job before us , good chance you will get reconmended by them , just imo[/QUOTE
I do have to say the chippies on site are useless. left packers hanging out off all door frames buy at least an inch that we cut off.All door frames had to be built out and having at least an inch gap all the way round the frames for us to try and fix for them. The was no more than an inch from the floor on most walls and it was feathered in lovely for the chippies to apply skirting. The one bit that looks like 2 odd inches was because it was a bit of steel and the boarding guys had cut round it so i didnt see the need to try and skim it. What Scottie has to deal with on a day to day basis with crappy board work. screws hanging out everywhere etc etc. I think the man deserves a medal

How college teach you and how things work in the real world are two different things.

yeah but you can have best of both worlds - the technical side from college and the experience of working with different plasterers, and their different ways of working - both solid plasterers and fibre hands :RpS_thumbsup: that's how experience is gained

Up the wall with work mate. House hasn't. Moved along for a few weeks as I haven't had chance to get there..booking a week in me diary so I can be there to do some. More.got the extension to.build yet. Had it 7 months now. Still.another 4/5 months before liveable

i dont think so , id say at least 90% of experience is gained from on site, college and forums is just hit and hope

I'm sure some of the lads from the forum - would give you a hand:RpS_thumbsup:

yeah good one, i learned the best way the way you learned

I sure you learnt - the technical side at college, then put it into practice working on sites :RpS_thumbsup:- building up speed and different techniques working with others

damn no , i learned off tradesman ( how old are you ) did you come into plastering late in life

hi church
I still believe there is a place for proper apprenticeship's combining the technical stuff with the speed of sites - not the week courses, that I believe are ruining this great profession of ours :RpS_thumbsup:

I started plastering at 16, completed a bound apprenticeship worked years on construction sites - also completed 5 years in a fibrous workshop then back onto sites - all this and im fast approaching 50 - I make that 34 years and still willing to learn, and pass on my knowledge and my experience to others :RpS_thumbsup:

i sort of agree , but the week courses(teachers ) are just salesman taking the eze pound out of people that know no better

yeah - unlike some of the colleges who have their learners a lot longer, the tutors are usually in their late forties or early fifties with years of plastering experience's and who have completed teaching qualifications - which can be 2 years at a university :RpS_thumbsup:

by the way church why did you think I was late into the plastering profession

im not sure , i can work out most on here in an instant lol ( theres only maybe 10 spreads on here ?) im not sure about you yet

@church, Phil aka @puddove is a proper tradesman ive seen work he has done and bang on! He did a cornice almost as big as he his (hes only about 5ft 3 lol) but very impressive and a sound guy aswell. Infact all the lads i met on the mine tour were all proper good lads. Was a pleasure to meet them all :RpS_thumbup:
