read somewhere that plasterboard is now classed as toxic waste..... can anyone confirm it?
 
You cant put it in skips, the job im on at the mo all the offcuts ,wash out slops, and even the bags have to go in hippo bags, separate from other waste, F###ing daft if you ask me
 
a bit low you got to be joking thats better than most mate site works usually 5.00 f+s 2.40 skim and nothing for reveals or beads do 40m2 of f+s set at that rate aint a bad day
 
They are low ... I have never seen prices below £3.50 p/m skimming down here ...ever.

I dont get it a lot of you lads say you charge £150-£200 per day day rate but think that £2.40 p/m isnt bad money.

The float and set isnt that bad if the area is ok
 
most spreads should be able to out 100 mtrs a day skimming rich so £2.40/mtr isnt bad £240 - tax an fuel your still drawing about £170+


Edit: dunno what i would be drawing if i need to get digs in romford tho haha prob end up making a loss

If you have the area yes..

could you knock out 100 square of ceiling in a day working in small houses ?

I have just completed a block of new build 2 bed flats which were small,loads of stupid returns,high stair wells etc etc on £2.40 you wouldnt make a bean after you have paid out for a lab,which you would need cause of how awkward it is.

100 s/m a day, no labourer leaving a good clean finish ... ten years time napper you will be worn out.
 
we always work as a 2 rich labouring for ourselves always seems to work never had to work on really small houses, yea you have off days where you cant make 100 mtrs but then your have the weeks where u get the corridors or jobs where they pay lin for boxings and reveals so you make it up there swings an roundabouts and tbh if i can get £400 a week bottom line after expenses is more than happy with that at the present time things will pick back up again soon and the grand a week + times will be back again im just lucky im only 26 and should still be fit by the time it picks up and still capeable of pushing 100+ mtrs a day plus im in collage doing hnc in construction and gonna be looking into doing NEBOSH as i dont wont to be on the tools in 10/15yrs time

so between the two of you you are knocking out 200m2+ thats very good going, I seen one spread who was knockong out similar and it was rubbish work, I prefer quality over quantity and im not saying yours isnt by the way
 
i hear a lot of spreads telling me what they can do, and in over 30 years to the trade ive seen some really and i mean really good spreads .not many can do100m2 a day of normal work yes there are some days you can, but not many. imo 70 to 80 is a big effort
 
it is possible to have both i used to have a 3+1 gang and we were doing about 400m2 a day
 
we didnt have to knock that much out we were greedy we were getting 3.50m2 on a mc carthy and stone job only time i ever got that in 26 years
 
if the average plasterer wants to earn 150 a day then 30 sqm on 5 per metre is comfy ???........fook me i was used to 4.50
 
surprising what the human body is capable of if its used to it...
look at them squaddies running 25 mile with an 80 pound (2 bags) pack on their back in full kit in the summer..
if thats what youre used to it isnt that hard... just got to eat like a bloomin horse..

if your not used to it though youve got no chance...
never catch me doin more than 1 room a day on me own...
not on domestic anyway..
 
most ive ever got was 3.50 last yr down in chichester for dancor acoustics other than that its been between 1.50 an 2.75
 
i would love to get these prices you all talk about but with the exception of that one i told you about never had it london is very kick bollock and bite and the firms know that i could tell you at least 8 big companys who at the moment pay from 1.80 to 2.20 m2 for skimming
 
sounds about right we did a job for ocl it was a fiver m2 f+s about 2.7 high upstirs it was 4.5 and still the same
 
was that the one in kentish town? i was trying to get on that but the lad who i was working with lost his phone with all his contacts
