I cant believe people work for such bad money ... honestly I just wouldnt do it. If its corridors etc then maybe but I have done loads of flats down here 2 bedders and they are all so awkward you boys could never make it pay on £1.80-£2.50 p/m .

Most days I am doing 3 sets a day with a labourer sweating all day water/beading/cleaning/loading out etc etc and I probably do 50-60 a day max ... you just cant do more.

Take the job I am on now for example its a block of flats and I am skimming the corridors, every man and his dog are walking up and down the stairs carrying kitchens up etc etc etc. You cant get nowt done.

In all the top flats there were loads of velux windows that were well high, took hours to bead let alone try skimming them on your own.All the flats had huge 3 way reveals that you had to bead with 3 lengths of stop bead.... I could go on.
 
rich mate, ive seen similar lads go and you wouldnt wanna be them..
its same every day, theyve got it off to a fine art..
when i used to fit windows nobody used to believe me and my mate could fit 17 and 2 combination doors into render in a day.. till we worked with a 3 man gang and they did 10 an 2 and were f''''ked....
routine..communication..graft...dont stop...
wouldnt catch me doin it mate... ;D
 
I enjoy my job,Its why I do it....I am lucky because I am the contractor and get the top rate and also make a bit off the lads.

To me there can be no enjoyment in working yourself to the bone day in and day out its not life its just an existence. If you do it then good luck but its not for me.

I work hard everyday but I am enjoying myself not killing myself.....big difference.

work for yourself.. not some dick sat in a portacabin dictating what he thinks youre worth..
but when your younger.. thats what you do...
trouble is, once you realise, you get the f''k out and get into something else ;D
 
bollox to the big firms. worked them. soul destroying! two quick coats on a s**t day rate rate and a bunch of noobs following on with the aims. crap work. crap people. crap money. domestic rocks and so does being your own boss!
 
hear hear potatoe! £1.90 a meter?! when i signed on to this forum about a year ago, we were saying how £2.50 a meter was crap.... how much more can it come down?

Im with you on that rich, and potatoe your also spot on its great being your own boss.
 
i exact what richard says why kill yourself you should at least try an enjoy what your doing working like billy takes the joy out of your day in my eyes quality not quantity
 
with me it not a case of quality or quantity its a case of meterage to get the money in the bank depending on the rates your getting paid you dont get pulled back for snagging the quality is obv good enough
