Advice needed from good renders please

Hi there. I previously posted about my terrible renderer. It’s a long story, but basically took this guy 3 months to finish my job. Cut so many corners, including not using angle beads/stop beads in some areas, cracking to the front render, which he has no silicone top coated that section, which is a different colour to the render! The join to the neighbours side is terrible, he’s painted a line of white paint to try & fix. Didn’t fully render the front door section & did it after, which is now a different colour. Total bill was almost 8k, I have paid so far 5.5k, leaving 2.5k. I’ve told him I’m not paying anymore until I am happy with the finish, or he reduces the price to allow me to get someone else to fix. This has been put in writing to him many times. He is now demanding all the money to be paid but said I can keep 10% back until the other bits are finished. I do not think I should have to pay him another penny until I’m satisfied. Could I please have your thoughts?

@Dollar hi. Thanks for your reply, but what do u think to the money situation & the quality of work? Why do u say that about the lights? Because it will highlight the terrible job? We were going to put lantern lights up? Thank you.

Forget him I'd be really annoyed the work is really poor tell him to f**k off it's 3 different colours with two types of render on it is that what you asked for? It's going to cost you to put it right he hasn't got a leg to stand on

I know, I’m going to contact citizens advice today, I already previously did and they said they were going to inform trading standards. My worry is that he’s a rough guy & has already told me recently he beat someone up & was arrested! So I’m worried about what he may do to my house
 
Your doing society a good service
If people do shoddy work and get paid in full they will never learn
Get good cctv up quickly (but not shoddily lol)

Your house is your castle don't let him intimate you I definitely wouldn't pay him anymore money just hit him with the facts it's poor work that needs putting right and it's 3 different colours and two types of render it will need touching up and painting give him the option to do it or pay someone else and pay them out of the money you owe give him the choice

Citizens advice basically said I should make a ‘payment under protest’ & then try & get my money back after!!! How ridiculous is that!!!

Then you paid for them it'll be criminal damage if he does, if he supplied them and you didn't pay he's within his rights make sure you have cameras set up and let him know about it

He’s not within his rights as daft as it sounds if the renderer paid for the materials. Once you’ve put it on or in a property it’s criminal damage taking back.
 
Smash his face in out on the street and then line his teeth up with the kerb stone on the road then whack your knee in the back of his head
He won’t come back then
 
Don't think he is going to be happy he is working for peanuts as it is. Most on here would have charged double what you paid. Pay less pay twice. You can't expect attention to detail for what you paid. Just pay the bloke and grow a creeper up it or spray it with Corksol.

Complete nonsense most people go and measure the job and put a price in either its acceped and worth doing or it's not and you don't do it only an idiot would do a job that isn't worth it and on top of that people should take pride in their work and do it properly no matter what
