Advice needed please. Plastering on artex ceilings.

Hi Everyone, hope this is posted in the right section, please could someone advise/move if it isn’t.

Had my whole house professionally skimmed/plastered including artex ceilings and unfortunetly some haven’t come out great. Had a decorator put a mist coat on and he’s slated the finish saying its unacceptable. Keeping in mind he’s already sanded them down and got them the best he can at the moment.

Some pictures in ‘natural’ light (normal light fittings) and after a few people have commentated on them when looking at the progress of the house I have taken some with a brighter handheld light to really show the finish.

Would appreciate some opinions on them and can provide more pictures if required. In some rooms we are having downlights and so they won’t highlight the ceilings but in alot of rooms we having ‘normal’ lights that shine up and down and its in them rooms that the ceilings show.

Can appreciate artex ceilings won’t be easy to do but was expecting a better finish than they are and would think a second skim would help with the finish?

That's probably the worst attempt at plastering a ceiling I've ever seen.
The painter should never have painted them either, he should of walked away.

They all need ripping down and new board putting up, over overboarding

Exactly don't think he was painter ither like you say no senseble painter would painted that knowing in new work. I bet you'd get a better finish going over twice whith speed skim

We'd get a better finish with adhesive or bonding. Can't believe the customer didn't notice after day 1 tbh

I'm getting married this year and my sister wants her dining room doing I've told her no freebies this year I've got a wedding to pay for so she grassed me up to my mum, I just wanna know if you got that spreads number lying around at all so I can send him round to my sister's house to f**k her dining room up (y)

That finish is all the rage at the moment !
to get this quality of finish it was either the builder himself, [the one you can plaster but is usually to busy ].
or on need to let a couple of jumped up bucket washers have ago !
