Another new trowel from NELA - PREMIUM ELITE

Right ffs! Im
Looking for a new trowel 12/13” x 4.5, none of this lay on with one trowel , flatten with another trowel b*ll***s, just one towel from start to finish! Looking at the Kraft trowel, would be nice to feel it in the hand tho, is the Nela elite premium okey Cokey 2000 any good ?? I don’t want a flexi or medi flex or any of that nonsense, just a good old fashion trowel with a good steel

Cheers algee mate , that’s what I’m using now, I find because they are 5” wide the corners of the toe end of the trowel flex a bit, it was ok when I first started using it a few years ago , but as it’s wearing it’s becoming a bit bendy in the front corners, that’s why I’d like a 4” or just over so it’s got more support!
Maybe I’m overthinking it :ROFLMAO:

Another new trowel from NELA - PREMIUM ELITE

Just bought a Nela Black Edition Elite Premium in 16" flavour. Sat it next to my old Nela s*p*r*lex II.
Used it yesterday on a small job and it worked well (although I did file the corners off and gave it a once over to deburr it etc).
I used it to put on and trowel up. Swapping between it and a 14" MT Permashape.
Having not used a 16" before it felt a bit unwieldy but got used to it. When dropping back to the 14", the MT felt small. I'm used to an 11" so it's a big jump lol.
In the end the MT's tang was ragging the back of my fingers as its not as well finished, so ended up using the 16 alongside my 14" Nela Black Edition flexi. Good combo.
My Premium Elite was straight as an arrow, with a nice shallow bow widthways. Must've been handpicked by Ryan :D

Got a nice little kitchen ceiling to do tomorrow. A light stipple to overskim and a bit of boardwork. The extra length will be handy reaching over cabinets.

I'm not one for buying trowels is this Nela used for last trowel?

It's aimed at beng used from the start, presumably all the way through to the end, but for the fact that would knock sales of the Black.

Basically, what I'm saying is the Elite is a standard trowel, not a flexi.

Do you get a better finish or is just a gimmick

One coat
Spat
Spray
Sponge
MT
MT with water if needed
Corner trowel
Flexi

How the site boys do it round here

Some use mediflex or ox stainless steel 18inch but the better ones use steel

fuucking disgusting how weak these new trowels are and don't get checked before sending them out to lads...

peolpes livelihoods and they send that warped shiite out
I was nearly going for one, that has just sent me back to carbon again. disgraceful in my opinion looking at that.

I'm finding I'm using the 14" MT and Nela Black flexi more tbh. Although just done a ceiling yesterday over stippled artex, put on with the 14" MT and used the 16" Nela to give it a flatten between coats and first trowel, switching over to the 14" Nela Black flexi for 2nd trowel. Polished off with the 16" to break it in more. I find the Nela Black Premium Elite a nice comfortable trowel to use as it doesn't rag my knuckles like the MT. Pity I didn't get the 14" version instead of the MT (although I bought and used the MT the same morning as I needed a longer trowel for a staircase job where my 11" didn't fit behind the floating treads)

I don't think I'll be buying anymore trowels otherwise I'll end up not using them all.
