As we get older sometimes we don't get wiser although we try, we are becoming hoodwinked with all the new gadgets, IE trowels and spats and this and that, don't get me wrong one new invention shall aid one person and hinder another, but its a costly journey but its an easy trap to fall into, for me its to try and make the graft easier, for my son its a source of amusement, two things he said to me this year that were very true, but of course I wouldn't admit to, firstly- dad when I started with you we had a holdall for the tools now we have two holdalls and two shelves in the van with different trowels and spats, the other remark was, you are like my friend kevin who plays golf and spends all his money on new equipment trying to buy/ improve his game, cheeky c**t but a true observation, I remember once we went into a café for lunch sitting drinking my coffee or should I say spilling my coffee, hand was shaking like I was on the piss the night before and this prick sat at another table said got the shakes mate heavy night was it, that's why silly old me buys anything to make life easier, sad but true.
