Anyone with experience from previous recessions/hard times

Like I said at the time , I wouldn’t of sold anything to you or anyone if I knew things were wrong, I spose it’s 8 years old this year so there’s gonna be a few things, just a blow especially this time of year, hope it’s been a good drive /van for you other than these things
Totally mate, it’s one of those things and I know you wouldn’t have sold me dodgy, it’s a good van, just thinking a warranty may be what I need

One thing to remember in a recession is the contacts that you may have made by doing ‘little’ jobs for people. The jobs that nobody can be arsed with when the going’s good.

Random question:
Any of you guys who have been around longer than me know from experience on past recessions/depressions etc if VAT on commercial vehicles got dropped as an incentive for people to buy them? Reason I ask is I am forking out a fair bit keeping my van at the moment(seems everything is going at once) and am looking at something new with a warranty. Downside is that I am looking at 18k plus vat minimum which I can’t afford to do. I know the vat isnt huge but it will take the sting out of it
youl survive
we always do x

I got a used van on finance just before Christmas, I needed one as my old banger was struggling, I knew that I definitely don't want to pay cash, as it was a lot so did that. Paying just over 200 quid a month, happy days. Smiling driving to work, I know I can trust it as its pretty much new.

The old
Shape transits were brilliant, not sure about the
New ones
The new Transits are in a different league. Had 2 of them. Everything you could have dreamed
of...remote start so it’s thawed out for you to save time. Reverse camera, heated windscreen. Voice command satnav etc. Working in a new area and looking for a roll shop? No bother. Just press the button and say I’m hungry and up pops a few local cafe’s.

How much did you have to put down and how much are your monthly payments?
