I'm going to do their advanced fibrous course when i've got a spare 2 grand and a free month.

Are you being serious about that TonyM? if you are I can tell you that it would be well worth it from a "knowledge gained" point of veiw. They have had people come from all over the country and even from as far as Boston USA recently. The guys that teach it actually do it for a living as well as teaching it.

Yes. I've installed plenty of cornice over the years and can do repairs to a point, but want to learn how to make it etc. I spoke to them at APC a while back and they explained the course and although it's a lot of money, I reckon it'll be money well spent. The price has just gone up £500 as well, as when I called it was just under £1500. It'll be a dear month though, what with 4 weeks off work, 16 nights digs, and the course fees. Not going to get much change out of £5k.

what do you eat Tony?lol nah i see all that time off work!

Breakfast - Caviar on toast
Crib (thats the Cornish equivalent of snack) - Truffles and fois gras sandwiches
Lunch - Smoked wild salmon salad
Dinner - Fillet steak

When you take into account the loss of wages for a month and the digs, thats when it starts getting expensive.
cant you do it over 2 x2week periods Tony to try and break the cost a little? 2 weeks this tax year 2 next also as its deductable?

The last 2 yrs i've had hefty tax rebates, so i'll wait and see what happens after April. I'd want to do the course in one go really.

good luck tony my old boss told me to get into it he was getting enquiries cause builders were stuck with contacts for it ............vv good money to be made apparently ::)

Thanks mate. I think there's something a bit therapeutic about doing a job like that, plus it's something a bit special too.

I reckon that doing it in one hit is the way to go Tony, by the end of 4 weeks you'll really have a grasp of it. While I was helping out with the solid plastering course I kept popping into the fibrous section as it's so so interesting, well to me anyway.

Its not as interesting as spunkys new website lol.
But i know where your coming from,id love to be able to do that kind of stuff just for me own piece of mind not to make money from it as such
